about

Cláudio Oliveira, composer and sound designer based in Porto, is the main character behind the electronic music project Dust Devices. His journey is punctuated not only by the development of soundtracks and sonoplasty for cinema and videogames, but also by an artistic vein. From creating sound installations, to the participation in collective music projects such as RITES, PHLP and OLEC.

In this second EP, Dust Devices insists yet again on the exploration of the contrast between mechanical rhythms - inspired by 80’s industrial music and EBM -, and a liquid atmosphere, filled with textures that reclaim the hypnotic world of esotericism. This time, however, the experimental nature of it is a tool in calling to living the album on the dance floor.

For the ones who were present, know that the EP was only finished after its presentation - still in a very early stage - in Prolífera #1, whose received reactions inspired and determined its conclusion. May we introduce Dust Devices, contaminated of FM and granular synthesis, where a door is opened to a journey which starts introspective and explodes in a cosmic landscape.
