Dust Devices launches its first LP, INTERUPT, on December 17, by MERA Label. This album follows the hypnotic Specter Research, released by the label in November last year. In conjunction with this announcement, the video clip of the track ‘HR Sequence’ is also presented, directed by shplss and released on Mera’s YouTube channel on the 30th of November.

Cláudio Oliveira - the character behind the project - has been surprising us since his debut with the introvert Resonant Remnants. Composer and sound designer based in Porto, he marked his path not only with the development of soundtracks and sound design for cinema, but also for his artistic production, taking action from the creation of sound installations, to participating in collective music initiatives such as RITES, PHLP and OLEC. Inspired both by rhythmic influences - from Industrial, EBM, Techno and Electro - as well as by melodies and dense atmospheres - created using granular synthesis and FM -, the exploration of textures, linearity and visuals, inevitably takes a prominent place.

INTERUPT is Dust Devices’ debut album released by Porto’s label. Over the 12 tracks, aesthetics and distant memories of the dancefloor are explored, combining them with generative methods of sound design. A project that is born out of a futuristic gesture and with a lot of experimentation. The symbiosis between the organic and the synthetic is presented as the main foundation of this album, oscillating between electronic dance rhythms and synths, and dense and sensorial soundscapes. We underline HR Sequence, a cold track that meanders through the hot world of fury. Inspired by the 90s rave, and mixed with IDM and Soundscaping, HR Sequence reminds us of the essence of Dust Devices: a mystical symbol within electronic music.
